Aussie Curves: Mixing Patterns!

Yay! What a fun week! I love mixing patterns...sometimes extremely with one big bold pattern against another which has those who don't understand saying "are you really going to wear that?" to me LOL.  and other times where the patterns are quite low key and blend quietly together!

This week I teamed this fabulous patterned crop jacket I found in a Brooklyn thrift store (that was the MUMMA of all thrift stores, THREE levels of goodness!) with a striped circle skirt. I added the yellow inside shirt for a bit of pop! The outfit has a bit of a 50's look to so up went my hair in a high pony tail!

S/O to our Gabby from NY who was (and yes, I'm sure I've mentioned this before...) THE BEST tour guide for our second round in New York and for taking us to our thrift store Promised Land!! :D

Cropped jacket, thrifted $6/ Yellow cropped collared shirt, thrifted $2/ Striped circle skirt, thrifted $3 MS Opshop/Suede brouges, Rivers $20

How do you like to mix patterns? What is you logic behind the fun? Please share...

Aussie Curves: Orange!

Sunday, sunshine and a birthday breakfast date with the ladies...perfect reason to bust out some orange for Aussie Curves! Introducing our beautiful friends, sisters Anne, Josie & Mauana. Anne and my sister Mele went to College together and now teach at the same school. It was Anne and Josie's birthdays this and last week and mine the week before that so we finally got the chance to get together for a little celebratory feed.
The food was yummy and the conversation was even yummier! Lots of giggles were had! I've said this before I'm sure but there is nothing better than good food teamed with good company...a winning combination.

What I wore:

Purple blazer, $6 Salvos/Orange sheer tunic, Big W $25 last season/ Tube skirt, $5 Kmart/Cuff flats, Big W, $23 three seasons back

Earrings $2, MS Opshop/ Wooden carved ring, $12 Caribbean Markets Melbourne/Shades, gifted from a friend/Handbag, $2 Vinnies :)

L-R: Mauana, Josie, Anne & Mele

Are you an orange fan? I love citrus tones and colours, especially in Spring and Summer! I love this sheer top of mine because of its detailing around the neck line and the length. I loooove long flowy tops as it hides my probplem areas best, haha. My own personal magic trick lol. ;)

I can't wait to check out my fellow Aussie Curves lovelies with their take on "OR-ange" as our fellow Americans would say...haha.

IT'S A WEDDING!!!

Well this story begins way before the wedding at a place I called home for 3 years...College. I spent the duration of my tertiary education living in dorms and experiencing life and study on a level I had never experienced before. My first year was full of well...firsts. Living with strangers, making new friends as an "adult", studying at university level, eating in a cafeteria and discovering who the hell I was in this world. By my second year those strangers had somehow become sisters, I had buckled down and was working my butt off to get good grades and I was learning key lessons in life that were leading me in a direction of self discovery I had never anticipated. By my third year the people who I new not a single fact about not too long ago were my every day companions and to my surprise, upon reflection, became people that felt as close as family. Somehow the word "friends" didn't seem to suffice when describing who these people were in my life.

That was just a tiny bit of information to try and put into context how much fun, love and memories are made and shared when I get to reunite with my college family  at an event like this wedding. I graduated in December 2012 with not only a Bachelor in Education but a whole new kooky, passionate, talented, hilarious, beautifully diverse family. For me this was wedding was not only a beautiful celebration of love and union but a REunion of  friends and family. So much fun in just two days. Here's how it went down...

9 hour road trip to Coonamble, NSW with sis Jenny. Left my house at 1:30am picked up this girl from her brother's 21st at 3am then drove like a mutha. Here are a few snaps from along the way looking nice and skanky,  haha!

Lucky we scrub up alright.

LoF sister Steph walking down the aisle. Sooooooo beautiful & blissfully happy!

Groomsmen in grey.

What I wore: Jacket, $3 Thrifted Salvos/Sequin tube top, $1 thrifted, MS Opshop/Skirt, $20 Forever 21 last season/ Wgede heels $30 Taregt this season/ Handmade necklace and clip-on earrings thrifted, $5.
Level 4 dorm sisturrrs
The dance floor was our beeeeetch, lol. :)

with my main Jennifer :)

We found the bride!
We were so pleased...lol.

I wouldn't normally post so many photos for one event but I just couldn't turn any away! lol. This day/night was SO MUCH fun!! A wedding on Steph and Josh's farm/property from the afternoon and into the night ft bon fires, fairy lights, a folk band that made the whole thing feel like I was in the Shire with all the Hobbits (blame my love for The Lord of the Rings LOL.) and  making memories with some of my most treasured people in the world!

Steph and Josh, I wish you all the happiness and prosperity one can wish another in the life you are building together. God's blessings and love coming your way. THANKS FOR THE INVITE, hahaha.

Aussie Curves: Dark.

Aussie Curves time again and I'm just getting in over the line this week! My goodness I have had no time this week to even scratch myself lol. but I'm feeling somewhat relieved to get my post in! Aussie Curves has become a part of my weekly schedule so it feels weird to not have something ready to roll every Monday. Long story short, YAY for me getting my butt into gear!

These pictures came from a shoot I did with my sister and niece a few weeks ago for my new blog banner. This helped me out a WHOLE butt load since I didn't have time for a shoot this week. I love what all my Aussie Curves ladies have done with the dark theme, you are all looking so super cool and I love seeing you all step up each week putting a spin on something that could be passed off as ordinary. Aussie Curves = fabulous.

What I wore:

Meet my beautiful niece Lee Fasi, she's a budding fashion designer & I'm super excited to see her works evolving. Watch this space for her developments :)

Lace top, $3 Thrifted/ Skirt, $10 City Chic Outlet store/ Converse All-Star sneakers $40/ Bronze heart necklace, sister's closet- thrifted $2/ clip on earrings, $2 thrifted
